Things are picking up in China

Speaking to my colleague in China on Friday last week, he advised that Factories in China are getting busy again. We have been hearing that workforce shortages are occurring in several cities. For instance, in FengGang, a small city in Guangdong Province, close to Shenzhen, it is estimated that the shortage may amount to up to 20,000 people. It appears that many workers returned to the provinces after losing their jobs in the downturn, and now they are not returning quickly enough to keep pace with the upturn.
In light of the upcoming Chinese New year break in early February which traditionally creates an additional demand peak, we are advising our customers to plan carefully to ensure continuous supply over the coming months.
